Frequently Asked Questions
Cyclone Rated?
Yes, our buildings can be rated to the required cyclone rating for your area. Our buildings are standard to an N3 and can be rated up to a C2 cyclone rating.
Can WBU complete the council approvals?
Yes, WBU can work with our certifiers to lodge and complete your council applications to obtain a building approval. We have a fantastic process to complete the requirements and work very closely with our certifiers to produce the best possible outcome for your approval.
Does WBU supply kit forms?
No, we do not supply kits for our homes. We build all our buildings right here in Yatala, Queensland with locally sourced materials. As QBCC builders, we complete the entire process for you.
Are the homes ‘Livable Housing’ compliant?
Yes, our homes are made to meet the current liveable housing requirements in Queensland.
Do the homes meet the 7 star energy rating requirements?
A lot of information comes together to obtain the rating of a building. This includes the property address, the direction the building will face on the property, what windows and doors are chosen throughout the building, what internal fixtures are being supplied in the building (air conditioning, gas or electric services, etc). We will complete the Energy Efficiency assessment as part of your approval process to obtain the rating for your proposed building. We use relevant building materials to give the best outcome for this assessment.
Where can these building be delivered to?
We can deliver almost anywhere the trucks can obtain access to. Our buildings do not require a crane lift if access is ideal, however we can organise this process should access be a concern and our trucks can not deliver the modules directly onto the footings. We have delivered buildings all over Queensland and into NSW to date.
Price guide?
We quote specifically for each job, due to the variables between each site location and building requirements. We are not your typical builder who has only a handful of plans to choose from and you can only make minor adjustments, at a cost to re draft. We have well over 100 plans differing largely in size, design and inclusions. In order to provide a full detailed cost, we also must obtain information on the location the building needs to be delivered to, if you would like us to complete footings, delivery and council approvals, as well as any adjustments to the building you wish to make. We encourage our clients to customise to suit their needs and budget. However, as a guide, our buildings are priced from mid $50,000 + GST, up to approximately $300,000 + GST for our largest builds. This is a rough guide from our current builds and prices. You can add as many modules together as required to create the perfect home/office to suit your needs and price will adjust accordingly.
What is the style of a WBU building?
Our buildings are fabricated with locally sourced materials, to all Australian building standards, right here in our yard at Yatala, QLD. We do not import our buildings or make them from old shipping containers or cold room panels. We design and fabricate to a high standard to ensure the best quality is provided to our customers. This includes many of the same internal items you will find in a standard home, such as gyprock interior lining, glass shower panels, beautiful kitchen cabinetry with soft close feature, etc.
Do you complete NDIS compliant housing?
Yes, we have completed NDIS housing projects in the past and can accommodate the requirements for this, in the majority of cases. We encourage you to make contact with us to discuss your needs.
Do the buildings come with engineering and council required documentation?
Yes, if we are completing the council approval process for you, we will quote to complete all the building engineering, plumbing rough in, etc and provide all required forms for the work WBU completes, to our certifiers for the building approval.
All our work is compliant with current Australian standards and the required engineering, from the building itself, to footings and skid bases.
Does WBU complete ‘off grid’ housing?
Provided this meets the requirements for council applications, we can assist with the building being off grid with composting toilets, ready for installation of solar or 15 amp generator plug in, etc.
